Goodbye, Braces!

October 18, 2008, I welcomed the world of pain by having my braces. Wax was a life saver for years. My teeth were not that bad anyway. I just wanted to have my misaligned canine fixed.

August 13, 2011, after wearing my braces for almost 3 long years, I had my braces removed!

Yay for that! Well, I am not supposed to have my braces removed yet. Since I am about to leave the country soon, I really have to have it removed. Or else, I have to spend a lot of dollars to pay for a dentist to have it adjusted.

Thanks to my review mate, Dr. Miguel Jhocson, who removed my braces. Yes, he's not my orthodontist. But I thank God that I met him in my review class.

The process of the removal of my braces and the adhesive was relatively painless. Although, when the bracket was lightly squeezed, I somehow felt discomfort.

The biggest worry I had ever since I had my braces on was that after the removal of my braces, my teeth will be stained. But no! Kuya Miguel did wonders on my teeth! He polished and whitened my teeth well.

That’s pretty much it for removing your braces. Your orthodontist will probably recommend that you go see your dentist to have your teeth cleaned and checked for cavities. You will return to see your orthodontist periodically to check your retainers. (Oh no! I know it's harder because I used to wear one.)

Goodbye braces and hello retainers!
