Exploring Changi International Airport

I never had a chance to explore Singapore Changi Airport although I've been there several times. Until not so long ago during my last vacation in Singapore, I was able to do so.
Changi Airport Terminal 1.
Singapore Changi Airport, Changi International Airport, or simply Changi Airport, is the main airport in Singapore. Changi Airport has 3 transit terminals and 1 budget terminal. All terminals have world class facilities, services and state-of-the-art amenities that makes Changi Airport the airport of choice.

  • Free Singapore tour
  • Hair and Beauty Salon
  • Music Bar Lounge
  • Airport Gardens
  • Rest Area
  • Swimming Pool
  • Transit Hotel
  • Children's Playground
  • Interactive Art (I still have with me my artwork I did 3 years ago)
  • Movie Theater
  • Gallery
  • Internet access (free and plenty of computers are available around the airport)
Although there were some renovations going on during that time, I still managed to take some photos. Good thing P and I were there around 4:00AM to drop his mom off for an early morning flight so there were only few people around.

You can see wide selection of shops and restaurants inside available to travelers. We were supposed to have our breakfast. Unfortunately, most of the restaurants were still closed during that time and only few were operating.
Ruyi Restaurant. Specializes in serving dim sum, noodles, and rice based meals.

Nice to know facts about Olive Oil.

Shopping can be a great way to kill time. There are wide selections of shops where you can buy anything you desire and your wallet allows. You can also find top of the line brands here!
There's even a bookstore inside!
Another good thing when shopping and dining here, visitors and tourist can enjoy even more savings when they shop at Changi's public areas. The 'Flying or Not, You Shop We Absorb' program has many retail outlets absorbing the 7% GST. If you want to know the participating stores, click here. Don't worry, I will write another blog soon on how to claim GST refund for tourists.
You shop, we absorb!"

Singapore is such a clean country. Good thing they promote it as well even at the airport.

Cute trash/recycle bins. I want to have one in my room!
They also make their customers comfortable and relaxed in the stressful world of traveling with a rest area, napping area, shower, spa and fitness service. As I mentioned earlier, we were at the airport around 4 in the morning. So, what to expect? --Sleeping travelers waiting for their flight. (Sorry! Hihi)
Travelers.
They also have the most convenient mode to transfer from one terminal to another. The Changi Airport Skytrain (similar to MRT) is a people mover system that connects Terminals 1, 2 and 3 at Singapore Changi Airport. It operates from 5:00am to 2:30am daily. The average waiting time for the skytrain is between 1 to 3 minutes. The service is free which is totally awesome and it only takes approximately 1-4 minutes to travel between terminals.

At Changi, the feeling is first class. Agree?
